Like UnEnchanted, Fairest was another book that I listened to constantly. The story begins a couple months after UnEnchanted, with Mina starting her newest Grimm quest.
As in UnEnchanted, Mina isn’t sure where to turn when she loses her grimoire and doesn’t know where to find it. The rules of the story continually change, and without Jared, Mina struggles through her latest tale.
Overall it was a good book, but with the bar set so high in the first book, I was a bit disappointed by Mina’s attitude.
Rather than being ready to face The Story head, on yet again she is reluctant, even though she knows that completing the tales, or die trying, is the only way to break the curse.
When Mina’s bad attitude and jealousy almost causes Nan to lose her life, Mina finally begins to fight to finish The Story.
After the first book, and learning about the curse you would think that Mina would be ready to do all she can to finish The Story and get on with her life. Her constant feet dragging knocks her down my favorite characters, bringing Jared to the top of my list. I want to finish the series but hope that with being a bit disappointed by this book that the third pulls me back in again.
