If I could compare each of these books in the trilogy to elements, to give you an idea of the overall feeling and pace; it would be fire, ice, and earth – respectively. Laura is the cool, calm, and ever-steady presence in the three women. She is a wonderful mother, who is stoic and stubbornly takes on burdens of the many – while maintaining the picture-perfect appearance and attitude.
There is so much to this book that I would love to write about, but the details are so specific that I fear spoiling it. But you are introduced in Book #1 to Laura, and to see her blossom and become who she really is, allowing herself to be who she is, is such a beautiful evolution.
I devoured this trilogy in the matter of a weekend; I highly recommend it.
